Our society is a subject of constant changes - vile: our society is in flux.
IN 1978 researchers of the Duke University and the University of California founded the first USENET newsgroup.
Users around the world discussed various topics. The computer network enabled participatory and interactive communication.
After 30 years the use of computers and networks has become a central part of everyday life.
Writing Emails, searching the web, watching videos online, and using social networks have become common place.
In all these practices we leave traces behind. We generate BIG DATA. BIG DATA that is used by big companies. GOOGLE, FACEBOOK, TWITTER, PINTEREST, AMAZON, LINKEDIN, ... turn our data into user profiles that mirror our desires and needs. These profiles are used to advertising clients. BIG MONEY is made with big data.
But governments benefit from corporate surveillance too. Commercial data collections are used for criminal prosecution and state control. EDWARD SNOWDEN revealed how tight governments and commercial players are interconnected. The NSA SCANDAL is in the news every day.
Your data will not be used by third parties. It will be stores in public soace, but nobody will access it. It will BE/COME a DATA MEMORIAL growing bit by bit.
HOW TO USE:
1) Upload your most secret file to DATA-MEMORIAL.org
2) OUR PROGRAM will calculate the size of your file. Each kb will be represented on the site as a BLACK PIXEL.
After years this site will be black and useless.
This project is a statement against all the BIG DATA Collectors out there.
